Keystone Mountain Adventures
Keystone Mountain Adventures is designed to give participants experience in backcountry, low-impact camping. Led by our experienced science-centered staff, participants will challenge themselves in many ways including hiking to a majestic peak or alpine meadow, setting up camp and cooking dinner under the stars and learn about the natural and cultural history of the Rocky Mountains. Young Investigators' Program
Interested in the role of nuclear energy and other nuclear techniques play in solving everday problems? Then join NC State's Department of Nuclear Engineering in July! Through a combination of group projects, labs, lectures, guest speakers and field experiences you will answer such questions as:
- How can we develop energy sources for deep space missions?
- How can we detect very low concentrations of pollutants in the environment?

Summer Science Program
The Summer Science Program offers motivated students an exciting immersion into real-world, hands-on science. Working in teams of three, students perform an astronomical research project from start to finish: they determine the orbit of an asteroid from their own observations, measurements, and software. Includes lectures in astronomy, physics, calculus, and programming, plus field trips and guest speakers. Students describe SSP as an intense, exhilarating intellectual and social environment, "the educational experience of a lifetime". Emphasis is on teamwork and cooperation.
